Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott lost his mother to cancer when he was just 20 years old. This past weekend he honored her memory with his cleats dedicated to her. It’s part of a new series the NFL is running called “My Cause, My Cleats” that allows players to push charity efforts that are personal to them.

Dak started the Fight, Faith, Finish foundation on behalf of his brothers and himself to help cancer research.
“It’s my personal foundation to bring awareness to cancer. Cancer is real near and dear to my heart after losing my mom when I was 20 to cancer,” he said. “I decided to start this foundation last year on behalf of me and my brothers [and] what our mom meant to us to raise awareness for everyone throughout the country.”
Dak and the Cowboys are in the thick of the NFC playoff hunt at 5-5. They take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Thanksgiving.
