The Minnesota Vikings took on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11 in one of the most intriguing games — well, on paper, that is, and definitely from a record standpoint. After all, Minnesota entered the week with a 7-2 record while Los Angeles entered the contest with an identical 7-2 record.
Before the big-stage game got underway, Vikings WR Stefon Diggs likely made a young fan’s day. In what can be described as a special moment, Diggs had a catch with a young fan, and you can catch the awesomeness in the video above.
Whether you’re a fan of the Vikings, Rams or whichever team it might be, this class-act move likely warmed your heart in some fashion.
The best part about the MVP move by Diggs in the video above? The young fan he played catch with was clearly a fan of Diggs, as he was wearing his jersey.
It’s always good to see professional athletes giving back to the community, even if it’s something as simple — yet powerful at the same time — as an athlete having a catch with a fan.
It’s acts like this one that help to make Diggs a fan favorite in Minnesota.
For all it’s worth, Minnesota ended up winning the contest by the score of 24-7. The win pushed the Vikings to 8-2 on the season. As for the Rams, they might have lost the game, but they are still 7-3 on the year, and they are currently at the top of the NFC West. The Seattle Seahawks, who the Rams will play again in Week 15 (L.A. lost the first meeting by the score of 16-10), are right behind Los Angeles at 6-3. The Seahawks will take on the Atlanta Falcons later on today for some Monday Night Football action.
Meanwhile, the Vikings are leading the NFC North, with the Detroit Lions trailing them with a 6-4 record. These squads will meet up again in Week 12 (Detroit won the first game by the score of 14-7). Nonetheless, Minnesota has managed to be one of the top teams in the NFL this season, and it has done so even with quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater out via injuries. Needless to say, QB Case Keenum has been a pleasant surprise in 2017.
As for the man of the article, Stefon Diggs, he managed to rack up 32 receiving yards against the Rams on Sunday. For the 2017 NFL season, he has 532 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. In 13 games last season, Diggs racked up 903 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He’s currently second on the Vikings in receiving yards, and first on the team in receiving touchdowns. It’s also important to note that the wide receiver went off for 173 yards and two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, proving he is capable of going off for a monster game.
Minnesota has won six games in a row. It hasn’t dropped a game since Oct. 1. As stated above, Diggs and the rest of the Vikings will take on the Lions in Week 12. That contest will be the start of a back-to-back-to-back stretch of road games for Minnesota.
