The Return of the Puppy Bowl

This Sunday, many football fans are awaiting the anticipated showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. For some, the Super Bowl is the highlight of the year and is even more exciting this year given what we’ve gone through in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic. For others, the Super Bowl is just another Sunday night – so what can they be excited about other than funny commercials and great snacks? Well if you’re an animal lover the answer is clear: Animal Planet’s 17th Annual Puppy Bowl.

This is the anticipated showdown where Team Ruff will face off against Team Fluff in Puppy Bowl LV, and the game will be more than adorable, it will be exciting and action-packed. The Puppy Bowl will feature 70 different puppies from 22 different rescue organizations, all of which are available for adoption. Special guests will include First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and cameos from the First Dogs Champ and Major who will make a video appearance at the long-awaited event. Major is the first shelter dog to be living in the White House ever and is certainly enjoying his new digs! The Puppy Bowl is an awesome event that allows a lot of these amazing dogs to show off their “pawtastic” abilities. It is not only adorable but also advocates for more people to “Adopt Don’t Shop” for their future dog. Look no further, you don’t have to spend a ton of money or go to a breeder to find the perfect puppy, you can find them in your local shelter or rescue organization. Another reason to tune in is that Dan Schachner, the game rufferee will be reffing his tenth Super Puppy Bowl, and will be tied with Tom Brady, of the Buccanneers for the same number of Super Bowls. In addition, not to be missed are the fabulous Puppy Bowl hosts, the incomparable pair of Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg who will likely bring their own fun and comical energy to this classic event.
