Missing a free throw on purpose to then make a basket doesn’t always work out, but it certainly did in the play above.
To make a long story short, the Hofstra Pride had to miss a free throw so they could then, at the very least, tie the game against the Monmouth Hawks with a bucket.
To perfection, Hofstra missed from the charity stripe, the ball was tipped out to the three-point line and then Jalen Ray sunk the shot from behind the arc for the win.
